Why low-fat or whole fat Milk?

In order to get the most benefits out of Turmeric, you need to drink it with a little bit of fat because Turmeric is fat soluble. When something is fat-soluble, it means that it dissolves in fat. Without any fat, the active component in turmeric, curcumin, has a difficult time making it past the stomach, into the small intestine, and into the blood where it can offer the greatest benefits.

Nut milk like Cashew, Almond, and even Coconut are great options and taste delicious. Just be sure they aren’t non-fat. Another option is to whisk in 1/4 teaspoon of coconut oil to achieve the fat needed for absorption.

Add a tiny dash of black or cayenne pepper!

Black pepper helps boost the bio-availability of Turmeric (Curcumin) by 2000% according to Dr. Michael Gregers research. You may be wondering why we didn’t just add it in ourselves? That is simply for taste purposes, not everyone wants black pepper in their tea. If you like black pepper, though, add a dash, even 1/20th of a teaspoon will suffice.

I love this product ever since I discovered it at the Himalayan Institute. It does wonders for my tummy and makes me feel good all around. I especially love it in hot milk or hot chai.

This turmeric blend is such a delicious and nutritious treat! I love the suggested recipe that came with it too – blending it with a little black peppercorn, a dash of apple cider vinegar, and some good honey or maple syrup gives it great layers of flavor. It is good cold or warmed up a little too! The warm version is so perfect for cold days!

I have this tea, as well as On my Turms, and I can’t decide which I like more. I make both using almond milk and honey. Its an awesome little treat at the end of the day, or a great warming drink for a cold snowy day. Either way, doing good things for your self never tasted so good!
