Directions

  1. Use 3/4 teaspoon (3g) powder mix per 8 ounces (1 cup) of warm/hot (low or whole fat) milk of choice (our favorite is homemade cashew milk).
  2. DO NOT BOIL. May also mix with nearly boiling water if you do not want to use any type of milk.
  3. Whisk until fully blended and frothy, an immersion blender works great
  4. Serve and drink immediately

Cold Brew:

  1. Use 3/4 teaspoon (3g) powder mix per 8 ounces (1 cup) cold water.
  2. Add in your favorite sweetener and a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice (optional)
  3. Put in a high speed blender or use an immersion blender on high until smooth (45 seconds – 1 minute)

Why low-fat or whole fat Milk?

In order to get the most benefits out of Turmeric, you need to drink it with a little bit of fat because Turmeric is fat soluble. When something is fat-soluble, it means that it dissolves in fat. Without any fat, the active component in turmeric, curcumin, has a difficult time making it past the stomach, into the small intestine, and into the blood where it can offer the greatest benefits.

Nut milk like Cashew, Almond, and Coconut are great options and taste delicious. Just be sure they are not non-fat. Another option is to whisk in 1/4 teaspoon of coconut oil to achieve the fat needed for absorption.

Add a tiny dash of black or cayenne pepper!

Black pepper helps boost the bio-availability of Turmeric (Curcumin) by 2000% according to Dr. Michael Gregers research. You may be wondering why we didn’t just add it in ourselves? That is simply for taste purposes, not everyone wants black pepper in their tea. If you like black pepper, though, add a dash, even 1/20th of a teaspoon will suffice.
